Nestled in the historic stone-working town of Pero Pinheiro near Sintra, The Sculpture Factory has, for 25 years, been a sanctuary for artists and a living monument to communal creation. Founded in 2000 within the ruins of a 1960s natural stone factory, it echoes the spirit of Andy Warhol’s Factory and Cologne’s Produzentengalerie - spaces where artists produce not only art, but a shared cultural pulse.
Today, this artist-run initiative has evolved into a vibrant cultural hub. Its open-air sculpture park and indoor gallery serve as platforms for contemporary expression, from monumental stone works to ephemeral performance and design. A collective of six professional, multidisciplinary artists anchors the space, curating, creating, and engaging across disciplines.
As we mark a quarter of a century of artistic energy, we celebrate this enduring legacy with a rich program of exhibitions, music, performance, children’s workshops, and catered events. The Sculpture Factory is a space where art lives, breathes, and connects—rooted in tradition, yet always in motion.
